Conics
Description
Conics books I-IV exist in Greek. The Greek text of Books V-VII is lost, but classical Arabic translations survive and are translated into modern languages. Book VIII is entirely lost.
Coverage
Relatively few translations of Apollonius exist. The only truly complete translation in a single volume known to us is the French edition of Ver Eecke, as Heath's edition involves condensing, combining, and reordering propositions. The Loeb Classical Library edition by Ivor Thomas contains only selections and is not represented here.
Readers who seek the complete Apollonius and do not read French (or prefer a modern printing) must combine the Taliaferro/Fried and the Toomer editions.
